Everything You’ll Want to See at Toronto’s International Design Show and More

Toronto’s International Design Show (IDS Toronto) is officially back for another season. Designers, contractors and home experts worldwide gather to showcase their intrepid designs and innovative technologies. Running from January 19-22 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, fans can enjoy an immersive experience with some of the best home brands in the world. This year’s theme is MOVING PARTS: Design for a complex world. The goal is to exemplify how designers are creating, sourcing, producing and distributing their products in an ever-changing landscape. There’s a big focus on sustainable materials and the idea of reinventing manufacturing.

Velji has seen the world over and found a seamless way to integrate his diverse cultural experiences into the design.

Thermador

Home cooks, this is the kitchen of your dreams. If you get the opportunity to visit the Thermador booth, you’ll find a wide variety of kitchen appliances, from ovens to fridges, with state-of-the-art wi-fi technology. We were blown away by Thermador’s capability of controlling your fridge and oven from your phone. The appliances’ innovative features allow you to guarantee a perfect cook every time or maintain the perfect temperature for fruits and veg.

Guests on Earth

This year, IDS Toronto grew its shopping district to include more small businesses to explore while enjoying the show. Our personal favourite was Guests on Earth, a brand dedicated to creating sustainably made and sourced cleaning products for the home. The best part is that the scents of the products don’t smell like your typical cleaning products; they’re earthy, spicy, fresh and inviting.
