From a forgotten storage shed to a fresh, contemporary multipurpose space, this barn now packs a lot of punch. On top of offering a retreat in their own backyard, we gave Ashley and Graeme a lounge space, games table, workout zone, bathroom, kitchenette and, last but not least, a cozy office tucked behind sliding barn doors. And while it’s complete with pretty finishes and amenities (beverage fridge, anyone?), it’s still durable. With cork floors, we didn’t ignore the reality that this needed to be a flexible space. One night it can host a great get-together, the next morning, a yoga session or conference call. With plenty of storage, built-ins, an electric fireplace, clad beams and a hygge feel, it’s a space the homeowners can ebb and flow with for years to come.
