10 Things You May Not Know About Jasmine Roth

Jasmine Roth from Help I Wrecked My House
HGTV

When it comes to helping out homeowners who have gotten themselves too deep into the home renovation process, Jasmine Roth is who you want in your corner. In each episode of Help! I Wrecked My House the designer and builder helps homeowners fix issues in their abodes, supporting them on their quests for the ultimate living spaces. But what do we really know about this energetic host?

Read on to learn more about Jasmine Roth and what she does outside of these homes before the new season of Help! I Wrecked My House debuts on Wednesday, August 31 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on HGTV Canada. Also available on the Global TV App and on STACKTV with Amazon Prime Video Channels and Rogers.

1. She Learned on Herself

It can be scary tossing your house keys to someone else for a renovation, but Jasmine gets it. Long before she was fixing up other people’s homes, she was building her own home in Huntington Beach, California. There, she and her husband constructed their future home on weekends before Jasmine eventually quit her day job and did the house-building thing on a full-time basis. We’d say it definitely paid off!

2. Her First Job is Surprising

When Jasmine first entered the workforce, she had a surprising gig: A fitness instructor at Curves Fitness. There, Jasmine would teach women how to use fitness machines and motivate them to feel good about their own bodies.

3. She and Her Husband Were Roommates First

Fans probably know that Jasmine Roth married Brett Roth back in 2013. However, they may not know the pair lived together as platonic roommates before any sparks started flying. It was only when Jasmine’s grandmother said something that they realized what they had right before them, and they finally started dating.

4. She Likes to Do Her Own Thing

Even though Jasmine and her husband have similar interests, she was never interested in doing a show with him. “He gets up every day and puts his suit on, and I get up every day and put my work boots on,” she once told Country Living. “I think it’s cool to each be able to have our own careers and be really supportive of each other.”

5. Dogs Are Everything

Jasmine is a dog person, through and through. Not only does she have three dogs of her own, but her home also features something cool and custom-made for them: A dog cave. Although, as she revealed to HGTV, the space can accommodate people, too — one of her friends even spent the night in it once.

6. But Her Baby Girl Is Up There, Too

Jasmine may have a soft spot for pooches, but her daughter, Hazel Lynn, is the apple of her eye. Their little girl was born in April 2020. “As soon as we saw her precious face, all the fear and anxiety melted away,” the couple told People in a statement at the time. “She’s only a couple of hours old and loved so much already!”

7. She Loves to Travel

When she’s not helping homeowners with their projects, Jasmine is all about travelling to new and exciting destinations. She and her husband have been everywhere, from Japan to Chile to Switzerland.

8. Her Hobbies Include Snowboarding

It’s no secret Jasmine loves to be active, but some fans may not know that she loves to hit the slopes and snowboard in her free time. She and her husband travel to various destinations to find their edge, and over the years, they’ve played at many mountains across the U.S. These days, her husband collects vintage snowboards, and they still get out there when they can.

9. She Likes to Give Back

Not only does Jasmine help homeowners with their biggest investments, but she also likes to donate her time and skills to those in need. Recently, Jasmine helped Habitat for Humanity build homes in Romania, but she’s also been to other countries to lend a helping hand over the years.

10. Building is in Her Blood

While it’s obvious how passionate Jasmine is about building and helping others, fans may not know that she comes by it honestly. Growing up, the host was close with her father, a carpenter. Together they’d build treehouses, playhouses, furniture, sheds, and anything and everything they could dream up. Now Jasmine is an advocate for young girls wanting to get in the business, and she couldn’t be happier.
