Kate Hudson taught us how to lose a guy in 10 days, and now she’s teaching us how to create an outdoor oasis in under six weeks. Actress Kate Hudson and the Scott brothers surprise Kate’s soon to be mother-in-law Melissa (aka ‘Moo Moo’) with the backyard renovation of a lifetime. Kate has known Melissa for 20 years and has always admired her as an educator. “Everything she does is for her children and her grandchildren,” says Kate.
Kate says that Melissa’s vibe is totally the South of France, and she’s willing to get down and dirty to give her the backyard of her dreams. Melissa’s backyard has good bones with beautiful grape vines and a rustic artsy shed. “Kate came to rock this demolition,” says Jonathan. “You can see already in Kate’s mind that is happening”. With all this enthusiasm, you know it’s going to be worth it.

With the reveal on the horizon, Kate can’t contain her excitement and is ready to show Melissa all the work she’s done. “It is the South of France!” says Melissa excitingly. “They so nailed my design style.” Kate and the Scott brothers brought the light and bright colours of France, while still highlighting the gorgeous greenery in Melissa’s backyard. With stunning outdoor furniture, and expert landscaping we wouldn’t be surprised if Melissa moved to the backyard full-time.
