Tables from the IKEA Nytillverkad Collection

IKEA is turning 80 this year and what better way to celebrate than launching a new collection featuring iconic designs from their beloved archive. Launching in July 2023, IKEA’s new Ntyillverkad collection will feature a series of carefully selected home furnishings updated to match the bold outlook of the next generation. Take a sneak at what to expect.

“The simplicity in the design – how they look – and how they help you in your everyday life is what makes this collection so special,” Johan Ejdemo, the Design Manager of IKEA of Sweden, explains in a press release. “They look good and work well.”

Currently Coveting: BONDSKÄRET

It’s almost impossible not to fall in love with the inaugural launch of the Nytillverkad collection. At first glance, our favourite piece of furniture is the playful metal coat stand, BONDSKÄRET. First launched in 1978 as SMED, the piece perfectly embodies the radical bold designs of the time. The company has revamped the coat stand, now called BONDSKÄRET, with a tubular, tree-like shape that is a brilliant example of postmodern design. It will be available in classic black, lilac and yellow. The hard part is choosing the perfect colour for your entryway.

Second on our list is the LÖVBACKEN side table, which is a classic example of mid-century modern design. It first made its appearance in IKEA’s catalogue more than 60 years ago and has since become an iconic piece. The table was reintroduced in 2013 and 2021 under the same name. Now the latest return will feature new fresh, and vibrant shades to choose from.

Our Favourite Nytillverkad Accessory

We’re smitten with the TUVKORNELL candle holders. The sleek, three-piece candle holders come in striking pigment shades of lilac, primary green and blue.

How gorgeous would this minimalist collection look on your dining table or mantelpiece? The piece was originally launched in 1980 as CYLINDER and was designed by sibling designer duo Knut and Marianne Hagber.
