Wall art statement pieces become the focal point in any room, setting the tone for your space, especially in a kitchen where one spends so much time. Follow this easy tutorial to create your own.

Materials Required:
- Basswood sheets
- Cricut machine
- Copper wire
- Scissors
- Thin sandpaper
- Pencil
- Ruler
- Hand punch
Step One: Measure Your Wall Space
Measure the wall you’ll use to hang your statement art piece to calculate how large you need to design each shape.

Step Two: Create All Your Shapes
On your computer, create three rectangles, one circle and one half-circle using Cricut Design Space. If you don’t own a Cricut machine, grab your basswood sheets, a ruler and a pencil, and measure and cut them individually.

Step Three: Cut the Shapes
Using a Cricut machine, cut each basswood sheet and remove them carefully as soon as they’re cut.

Step Four: Sand, Organize and Punch Holes
Grab each piece and sand them using thin sandpaper. Calculate the center of each shape and hand punch a hole in each one to pass the copper wire through.

Step Five: Attach All the Pieces With Copper Wire
Use a very thin copper wire to attach all the shapes. Twist and knot the wire on the back side, trimming any excess wire.

Voila! You are now ready to hang your beautiful and unique wall art statement piece.
