HGTV shows have always been about elevating your designs. However, HGTV’s new show, Battle on the Mountain, is putting a whole new spin on elevated designs. Much like our favorite waterfront competition, Battle on the Beach, Battle on the Mountain is a head-to-head renovation competition between three teams. Each team of two will receive $100,000 budget to renovate their home and a familiar HGTV face as a mentor. Teams will me judged by some of your favorite HGTV hosts each week. With a grand prize of $50,000 for the winning team of up-and-coming flippers, the stakes, and elevation, have been raised.
In preparation for the premiere, we’ve rounded up everything you need to know about HGTV’s newest competition series.
Much like Battle on the Beach, teams will compete to impress judges with their designs. Those judges will me made up of some of your favorite HGTV hosts. For the premiere episode, Chelsea and Cole DeBoer (Down Home Fab) will be rating teams’ kitchen and dining rooms. After them, Jasmine Roth (Help! I wrecked My House), Egypt Sherrod and Mike Jackson (Married to Real Estate), and Page Turner (Fix My Flip), will all weigh in on the teams’ renovations. Finally, the beach mentors Tania Nayak, Allison Victoria, and Ty Pennington, will each provide their final thoughts.
Being the first season of Battle on the Mountain, three new coaches will be chasing the title of first mountainside champion. Rico León (Rico to the Rescue), Kim Myles (Design Star: Next Gen), and Kim Wolfe (Why the Heck Did I Buy This House?) will guide a duo of up-and-coming house flippers. Together, both team and coach will try to wow the judges as they compete for the title of champions.
All three teams of aspiring house flippers will showcase their unique backgrounds and skills with hopes of taking home the $50,000 cash prize.
Amber and Trey (Ohio) will be led by Kim Wolfe. a team that fell into house flipping organically. They’ll test their newfound talents to see if they can stand victorious on the mountaintop.
Stephen and David (Massachusetts) will be led by Rico León. A balanced pair, with one being the creative and the other the level-headed. This pair has all their bases covered.
Lymari and Tony (Indiana) will be led by Kim Myles. A hard-working, go-get-’em duo, this team is willing to put in the extra hours and Myles (get it?) to make their designs stand above the rest.
