Maximalists and Marimekko fans will adore the latest jaw-dropping collection West Elm announced this week. The exciting new collaboration combines Marimekko’s iconic prints with West Elm’s modern aesthetic.
A Finnish-Inspired Summer
The summer collection will feature some of Marimekko’s most beloved prints, including Primavera (1972) and Kaivo (1964) by Maija Isola, as well as Papajo (1968) by Annika Rimala.

“These celebrated and iconic prints originally created in the 1960s and 1970s were selected for their signature Marimekko style and embody an optimism that is perfect for summer life outdoors,” Jeffrey Hannoosh, the Senior Vice President of Product Design at West Elm, states in the press release.
“We are delighted to continue to work with West Elm and see our iconic prints come to life in this fun and playful summer collection featuring products made for both indoor and outdoor living,” Minna Kemell-Kutvonen, Design Director, Home & Print Design at Marimekko, added.

What to Buy From West Elm’s Marimekko Collaboration
Notable highlights of the outdoor collection include pillows, door mats, floor cushions, outdoor rugs, a bean bag chair, and even a printed umbrella. Our favourite piece in the collection is hands-down the hammock with its vibrant ’70s floral pattern. Doesn’t it look like a lovely spot for a summer afternoon nap?
This new collab is available now in stores and online now. Prices in the collection range from $29 to $1,500 when you shop from West Elm Canada. This marks the second-ever limited-edition collection of Marimekko and West Elm, following the success of the Marimekko holiday collection in 2022.
West Elm isn’t the only popular home retailer embracing Marimekko’s iconic Finnish designs in 2023. IKEA partnered with Marimekko earlier this spring for their BASTUA line with products like furniture, glassware, and textiles inspired by nature and the self-care rituals of the Nordic sauna.
