We spend so much time focusing on the interior of our home that we often overlook the exterior and then when it comes time to updating our home, we’re left stumped on what to do with it!
When asked to submit a question for host of Real Potential Sarah Richardson, our Twitter follower Kerry B asked, “Should your garage and front door match in colour or the garage match the trim colour on the house and front door just be different?”
Sarah Richardson replied, “The garage door could be a shade darker than the trim colour as you don’t generally want the garage door to stand out as a feature. A slightly darker colour will help it recede. Treat the front door to a wow factor paint colour to make a bold and welcoming statement. Some of my favourite door colours are kelly green or moss green, deep cobalt or robin’s egg blue, cherry red, or smoky grey-green. Your front door is like the finishing touch to an outfit. It’s your chance to make a statement and have some fun, so choose a colour that expresses who you are!”
