I have always been a big supporter of helping skilled trades and encouraging the younger generation to get the education and training they need to stop shoddy work at the root. Here are some throwback photos of my favourite projects where I got to work with or for kids.
You are Never Too Young to Be a Kid
Rebuilding the beloved High Park playground after a deliberate blaze was a labour of love for my crew and I. To share the importance of play and taking the time to be a kid no matter how old you are was such an incredible experience!
My Crossed-Arm Pose Seems to be Catching On
Here I was showing a group of pre-schoolers how to strike my crossed-arm pose and Make it Right! What do you think? They seem to be picking it up well!
Local Summer Camp Visits the High Park Job
A group of pre-schoolers from a local summer camp visited me during one of the hottest days that summer. It was such a welcome surprise and it gave me and my crew that extra push we needed to get through the day!
Community Spirit is Alive and Well
With the clock ticking on the project deadline, my crew and I worked with a huge team of engineers, architects, firefighters and volunteers to complete the castle playground. In the end, it was a castle fit for any King or Queen, teaching kids that they can rise above any obstacle and build their own kingdoms.
Honouring a Friends Memory
When a high school friend tragically passed away, his classmates decided to help his family by renovating their basement. The job soon became too overwhelming for them so my crew and I jumped in to help but on one condition – that they help me finish the job. The kids learnt some valuable lessons in construction and what it means to love what you do!
He Shoots, He Scores!!!
After a family was left with an unfinished basement and feeling betrayed by a family friend my crew and I created an indoor playground and hockey rink. What’s better than being able to play hockey all year round!
