Actor and comedian Kevin Hart is known as one of the funniest comedians in the world. But in the latest Celebrity IOU episode, audiences will also see his incredible heart of gold.

In a one-of-a-kind makeover airing on Monday, July 5th, Hart expresses his deep gratitude to longtime friend and personal trainer Ron, who he refers to as “Boss.” The BET and People’s Choice Award winner helps Drew and Jonathan Scott transform Boss’ crumbling backhouse into a magnificent man cave.
In this emotional episode, Hart explains how Boss helped him to learn how to walk again after Hart survived a car accident that almost took his life. “My life got flipped upside down by a tragic accident, and I had to kind of start over,” he reveals. “It’s good when you have somebody to do it with you and walk you through it. And Boss was there with me every step of the way.”
In order to showcase his gratitude, Hart helps the Scott Brothers give his deserving friend a new space to entertain friends and family. He also happily jumped in on the demolition and knocked down the backhouse’s old kitchen and rotting floors. Hart truly loved participating in the design process and assisted in creating a unique space reflective of Boss’ contemporary style.

Highlights of this magnificent indoor/outdoor man cave makeover include a modern kitchen that features a hidden bar and a large stone island. In order to create a seamless indoor/outdoor space, the renovation included wide sliding doors leading to the backyard for an open living area. Hart also helped design a custom barbershop for his friend’s new entertaining space, which is a sentimental nod to where the two first met.
“This is a small token of my appreciation that Boss won’t see coming, and that will hopefully floor him,” he said. “This renovation is well deserved because of the person that he is.”
