Jillian Harris celebrated the launch of her latest Joe Fresh collection in style, and the dress code was simple: every guest wore a piece from the collection. And although everyone was wearing the same dresses, shorts and shirts, no one was wearing the same outfit.
This collection, which is her fifth collaboration with the Canadian brand, is her first to include home goods. From floral sun dresses to plates and bowls, and matching sets for mom and kids to a fluted pitcher, perfect for lemonade — this collection screams ‘summer.’ In an interview with HGTV Canada, the former Love it or List it Vancouver designer remembered the first time she saw this new collection. “I cried. I just could not believe it. Everything was so beautiful. Everything was so timeless.”
Jillian shared her two favourite pieces from the collection. From the home side, “I would say the picnic basket. It’s so unique, and its size and its structure is such good quality,” shares Jillian. “To me, I look at it and I just know what kind of day I’m going to have when I pack that baby full of wine and bread.” On the fashion side, Jillian’s favourite piece is the Sunshine Back-Tie Dress, which is the dress Jillian wore to celebrate the launch of her collection. “I just love the silhouette and feel so it feels expensive.” Jillian says.
But the Joe Fresh dress retails at just $59 and the picnic basket at $69, an exceptional price for either type of product! “I’m telling you that that picnic basket anywhere else would be $152” Jillian says. “I know this because I love outdoor living and love picnic baskets. It’s expensive!”

The launch of the collection was celebrated at the Toronto Beach Club over cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and a family-style dinner served on dishes from the new home collection. The venue was filled with flowers and every piece of the collab. Every guest showed how different each dress could look based on body type, accessories, and shoes. They snapped pics at a photo booth, were drawn by an illustrator and took home flowers from a bouquet bar.
While this collection is not in Jillian’s most recent Jilly Box, the idea of having a future Joe Fresh collab in a Jilly Box is not out of the question. “I hope that in the next couple of years, they’ll be an exclusive product in the Jilly box. That’s our plan.”
