The countdown for Halloween is officially on. With October 31st quickly approaching, now is the time to turn your home into Halloween central. As much as we love no-carve pumpkins and plastic skeletons, there’s something special about these DIY floating candles. Reminiscent of classic scenes from your favourite witchcraft and wizardry series, this floating candle DIY will add a touch of magic to any Halloween celebration. Here’s how to create your own.
- Empty toilet paper rolls
- Empty paper towel rolls
- Hot glue gun
- White paint
- Paint brush
- Flameless tea light candles (battery-operated)
- Fishing line
- Sewing needle
Step One: Paint your toilet paper and paper towel rolls white.
Step Two: Using the hot glue gun, create faux wax drips around the top of the roll.
Step Three: Once dry, paint the hot glue white.
Step Four: Create a bottom for your candle using white paper – trace, cut and attach with glue.
Step Five: Using a needle, thread fishing line just below where the flameless tea light candle will sit – this will support the flameless candle.
Step Six: Repeat to make multiple candles.
Step Seven: Hang from the ceiling. We used clear command hooks.
