Are you looking for a more subtle way to decorate for the spooky season? With the help of googly eyes, you can easily convert this colourful yarn tassel garland into a “bootiful” gang of colourful ghost friends. Today you’ll learn how to make this adorable and easy yarn tassel garland in just a few simple steps.
- Yarn in different colours
- Small piece of cardboard
- Hot glue gun and glue sticks
- Small google eyes (we found ours at the dollar store)
- Cotton twine
- Paper and a hole punch
Step One: Make The Ghosts
First, cut a piece of cardboard (around 3.5″ x 6″) and start wrapping your yarn around the cardboard piece 20 times and cut. Additionally, cut two 4″ pieces of yarn and use one to tie a knot on the top side.
With the second yarn strand, tie it 2″ down from the top, and you will create the head of the ghost. Cut the yarn excess and the loops at the bottom with your scissors. Do not forget to give your cute ghosts a good trim, so they are all even. Make as many ghosts in different yarn colours, and let’s add all the details in the next step.
Step Two: Add Ghost Details
Now, grab your hot glue gun and let’s glue two google eyes to the heads. Get creative with spooky expressions!
Step Three: Make The Garland
The last step (finally!) is to tie all your ghost’s heads to a long cotton twine piece to create your garland. Tie down the ends, and voila! Hang your adorable garland in your favourite spot.
