These fun little confetti-filled paper fortune cookies are sure to make your Valentine smile! Sneak some in with your kiddo’s lunch, sprinkle them by a candle-lit dinner, or pop a few into your neighbour’s mailbox to spread some love and warm wishes.
- Wrapping paper
- Tissue paper
- Hole punch
- Printer paper
- Sewing machine or glue
Step One: Cut Out Triangles
Fold a sheet of wrapping paper in half and cut out triangle shapes about three inches by four inches in size. Don’t worry if your triangles are not all the exact same size.
Step Two: Make Confetti
Fold together several sheets of red and pink tissue paper and use a hole punch to make a big batch of paper confetti.
Step Three: Print Out Fortunes
Type out a long list of your favourite love quotes, fortunes, short poems, jokes or customized messages. Print the paper, cut out each fortune and either roll or fold the strips. If you don’t have a printer or want to add an extra personal touch, you can also write out each fortune by hand.
Step Four: Sew Together Two Triangles
Line up two paper triangles and sew together two of the three edges. If you don’t have a sewing machine, you can also use a fine line of hot glue.
Step Five: Stuff the Fortune Cookies
Fill each triangle with a generous bunch of colourful or sparkly confetti and a rolled or folded up fortune.
Step Six: Sew the Fortune Cookies Shut
Once your paper fortune cookies are stuffed with confetti and a personalized message, carefully sew up the final edge of each triangle to seal them shut. Trim an excess thread and clean up any messy edges.
Step Seven: Share the Love
Sprinkle your finished confetti-filled fortune cookies throughout your home or serve them up as a sweet surprise after a family meal or romantic dinner. Enjoy!
