When it comes to decorating spaces, rugs play an important role and are a main piece of decor that bring so much coziness, colour and texture to our homes. Nothing adds more life to a room like a fun rug, and in this DIY project, we’ll show you how simple it is to create your own DIY round rug, in only three steps. Let’s get started!
Materials Required:
- Twisted sisal rope
- Drop cloth or sheet
- Hot glue gun
- Heavy-duty hot glue
- Scissors

Step One: The Base
Firstly, grab an old drop cloth or a sheet and smooth it out on a big table or your floor. You’ll use the cloth as the rug base.

Step Two: Roll & Glue
Now, the fun part: roll the rope into a spiral and secure it with hot glue as you wrap it around. Continue rolling, applying hot glue and pressing the rope to the drop cloth, making sure it is attached.

Step Three: Cut
Finally, flip the base over as soon as you have the rug size you are looking for. Trim the drop cloth with scissors to remove excess at the edge. You did it! Say hello to your new adorable cozy round rug!
