DIY:

STEP 1: Flags First

Start this project by cutting your decorative paper into strips that are .5″ wide. From those strips cut 7 pieces that are approximately 2″ long. Now, fold each of your 2″X.5″ rectangles in half. These will become your flags.

STEP 2: String Fling

Tie one end of your string 1″ from the top of one of your skewers. Lay the skewer and string on a flat work surface and fold the first of your seven flags over the string (the string will be sandwiched in the crease of your folded flag) and use your glue to adhere the flag in half and in place.

Repeat this step for all seven flags leaving about .5″ between each flag.

STEP 3: Beautiful Bunting

With the last of your flags attached to the string tie the remaining end to the second skewer. Use your scissors to cut away any remaining string.

Insert your bunting into the cake and wait for the oooohs and aaahs! Your cake will look so cute you won’t want to eat it!
