Family-friendly, laid-back, and livable, this basement packs a big punch in a small space! It may house a family room, dry-bar, laundry area and bathroom, but the neutral, soft, and casual decor helps each space flow into the next seamlessly. With two young boys, it was vital that this space be unfussy and playful, so everything from the laminate flooring and the carpet made of FLOR tiles (making for easy clean-ups), to the textured neutral sofa is durable. We hid ducting behind prefab cabinets that we outfitted to look custom, and between them, we installed a beautiful gas fireplace making movie nights extra cozy. And last but not least, we introduced oodles of whimsy in the bathroom with fun hexagon tiles, and plenty of personal touches in the living area through the gallery wall display of their children’s darling artwork. Topped off with oodles of lighting options (all on dimmers-putting you in control of the ambiance and mood) and this small basement feels like anything but!
