This kitchen is a playground of fun, bold touches-all grounded by simpler, neutral elements that play off each other beautifully. The flat-panel, glossy white upper cabinets contrast the grey traditional cabinets below; the bold blue backsplash finds its equal in the graphic wallpaper; and the gold pendant lights nod to the cabinet hardware. We added lots of colour and texture, but because this kitchen is so large, the white quartz counters and mid-tone wood flooring anchor the space. My favorite aspect has to be the dining nook. While it screams with personality, because it’s tucked out of view it’s a welcome surprise rather than a distracting feature. Instead than going matchy-matchy, we introduced some red and wood tones into the mix to give it tons of personality and topped it all off with decor that reflects the homeowners!
