Features like floating vanities require hidden steel bars to support them, and other construction details may not be immediately visible but are essential to the overall functionality and longevity of the bathroom.

Gone are the days of stale, clinical bathrooms that feel disconnected from the rest of the house. Instead, more people are looking to create a sense of connection and warmth in their bathroom for the ultimate self-care experience.

Anna Karp, CEO of New York design-build firm Bolster, says her clients are now seeking sound insulation, which includes using heavier doors and other measures to ensure that sound doesn’t carry between the bathroom and other areas of the house. A little privacy never goes out of style and certainly adds luxe to your space.
