Former country music star Kortney Wilson knows a thing or two about living life in the spotlight: after all, the chanteuse has also hosted more than 100 episodes of the popular HGTV Canada show Masters of Flip with hubby Dave Wilson. While fans of her music and the reno series likely already know a lot about the Canadian-born Kortney, there are things they might not know including the fact that she has a new show premiering on HGTV Canada.

Kortney and Dave’s New Show
After years of flipping houses, Kortney and Dave decided to share their know-how and make homeowners’ dreams come true. Making It Home With Kortney & Dave has the duo help homeowners achieve their own renovation goals by teaching them new skills, introducing bold designs and completing big transformations.
She Has Three Kids
The Windsor, Ontario native has three children with Dave. The design duo have dual Canadian-American citizenships and reside in Nashville with their two biological kids – Jett and Sully – and an adopted daughter, Lennox Esmee.
While Kortney loves living in Nashville, there are certain things she misses about her home and native land. “I miss poutine,” she says. “I miss the people. I miss Tim Horton’s. I miss the energy that Canadians bring. They’re so polite. Like they’re genuinely caring and they’re very transparent. I feel like Canadians are not afraid to tell you what they think.”
She Loves Late-Night Snacking
Kortney’s late-night snack of choice is barbecue chips. “It happens very frequently,” jokes husband Dave. She also appears to be a fan of pecan pie. Us too, Kortney, us too.
Hello, It’s Me
Kortney admits that, because singing isn’t her profession anymore, “music has become much more fun.” Her favourite songs to belt out at karaoke? “I personally love Adele,” she shares.
She Loves to Clean
It shouldn’t come as a surprise that the meticulous and thorough Kortney not only enjoys demoing homes, but she’s also a bit of a neat-freak and enjoys giving rooms a good cleaning.
Relax, Don’t Do It
“As much as people think that she’s go, go, go all the time – and she’s probably going to have a heart attack – she’s really good at sitting on the couch and watching reality TV shows like The Bachelorette,” says Dave. “Sometimes I almost watch them with her.”
It’s a Nice Day for A(nother) White Wedding
Kortney and Dave have exchanged vows four times. Yes, really! “It’s an awesome little tradition,” Kortney says. “I feel like more people should do it. It’s a nice opportunity to reconnect.”
School’s Out for Summer
Kortney can also add “teacher” to her resume as she has home-schooled her kids.
I Like Big Books and I Cannot Lie
Together with Dave, Kortney wrote a book that was published earlier in 2019. Live Happy offers up hundreds of ideas for how to inexpensively and creatively build joy into their lives and homes.
