A third-generation builder with an artistic flair and deep roots in his community, Randy Spracklin is a fun-loving hands-on boss who oversees crews working all over the island. The co-owner of Newfound Builders, Randy has recently grown the family company from a small local firm to a major player. And though he’s dead serious about his work, he’s also a prankster with a great sense of humor. Randy lives with his young family in postcard-perfect Brigus where nearly every property has been lovingly built or renovated at the hands of a Spracklin.

The co-owner of Newfound Builders, Randy’s dad Scott is a true Canadian craftsman. Known by everyone in town and beyond, Scott runs the company’s custom woodshop where he and his team expertly build everything from period pieces to contemporary furniture. An avid outdoorsman, Scott is so youthful he’s often mistaken for Randy’s brother. And though he has officially handed over the reins of the company to his son, he’s always in the background—just in case.

Carpenter’s apprentice Nikki was a stay-at-home mother of two until she decided to follow her surprise passion for construction and landed herself a job with Newfound Builders. Perpetually enthusiastic and always on the go, she isn’t afraid of a challenge—even if her determination to stare down a dare often backfires.

As a boy, Paul was glued to all the TV reno shows and knew he’d found his calling. Today, as Randy’s right-hand man, he always gets the job done. Paul can fix and build just about anything, and his problem-solving skills come in handy as the team constantly adapts their approach to fit Newfoundland’s notoriously unpredictable weather. Paul gets a thrill from sharing his wisdom and experience, and loves the sense of accomplishment that comes from yet another rock-solid build.
