About the Family Home Overhaul Hosts

    Title

    Cheryl Hickey
    Cheryl Hickey

Cheryl Hickey is a TV Host, Mom, and Entrepreneur. Cheryl brings heart to every project she works on and provides levity and laughter when it’s needed most. This is especially true in Cheryl’s newest project as she joins HGTV Canada to host its heartwarming new series, Family Home Overhaul.

Family means everything to Cheryl. She maintains close relationships with her parents, brother, and sister, and says that her mom, Lori, is her role model. Cheryl also loves to spend time at home with her own family: her husband, Kevin, their two kids, Jaxson and Nyla, and their two dogs, Murphy and Buddy.

Cheryl shows her children the importance of giving back as an active member of her community, supporting several causes she deeply cares for. She is a Celebrated Ambassador for Plan International Canada with annual initiatives like International Day of the Girl, she works closely with the Sick Kids Foundation, and supports the Baycrest Foundation’s The Brain Project.

Originally from Owen Sound, Ontario, Cheryl’s television career began when she volunteered at the local TV station as a teenager. Inspired by the collaborative creativity of the industry, she pursued a degree in Broadcast Journalism from Fanshawe College. Cheryl worked in several radio and television roles before landing at Global as a videographer, and becoming the first woman in Canada to shoot, switch, and report from a helicopter. She recently celebrated 20 years with the Global TV family, where she has been Host of Entertainment Tonight Canada since its inception in 2005.

As host of ET Canada, Cheryl delivers entertainment news coverage, in-depth profiles and behind-the-scenes exclusives to viewers each night. Cheryl is often a guest co-host on Global’s The Morning Show and 640 Toronto Radio’s The Parenting Show. As an entrepreneur, she is the founder of Cheryl Home and Family, a company that creates and celebrates products for a multigenerational family.

    Kate Campbell
    Kate Campbell

Kate has been working in the television and renovation industry for over 10 years. She got into the skilled trades in 2005 and took a "Women In Skilled Trades" (WIST) course which introduced her to carpentry, electrical, plumbing, finish carpentry, and several other trades.

Kate has appeared on many HGTV Canada hit series including Decked Out, Disaster Decks, Custom Built and Home To Win. When she’s not working on her own renovation company KateBuilds Inc., she is speaking to young women who are considering entering the trades.

Kate is focused on ‘changing the face’ of the skilled trades and is especially passionate about being an advocate for women and supporting causes that are important to her. Kate will be seen next as part of the all-star cast of Family Home Overhaul premiering this fall.

    Dave Coleman
    Dave Coleman

Family Home Overhaul’s Dave Coleman showed passion for construction from an early age, always helping family members with building projects as a kid. He began spending his summers working for landscapers and general contractors.

Dave attended the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire where he was captain of the NCAA Men’s Hockey team while earning his degree in business management. He then combined his construction interests with his business acumen, working for a prominent power tools brand as national accounts manager. It was through this job that he met the construction team at HGTV Canada’s Decked Out, including Kate Campbell.

    Sebastian Clovis
    Sebastian Clovis

Sebastian joined HGTV Canada in 2014 to help overwhelmed homeowners achieve their reno goals as host of Tackle My Reno, then in 2017 became a member of the all-star Home To Win cast and co-host of $ave My Reno which returned for its third season this winter. Sebastian will appear next in Family Home Overhaul premiering this fall.

A former defensive back, Sebastian played for the Saskatchewan Roughriders and the B.C. Lions in the CFL, who he won the Grey Cup with in 2006. Since retiring from football in 2009, Sebastian has taken the discipline he learned as a professional athlete and applied it to being a self-employed contractor.

    Joey Fletcher
    Joey Fletcher

HGTV Canada’s Joey Fletcher began working with Decked Out’s Paul Lafrance during his summer breaks in high school and knew this was the career that he wanted to pursue. After graduating high school, Joey continued working for Paul, and his other brother in-law Dave Kenney. Joey has appeared on Decked Out, Deck Wars, Disaster Deck, Custom Built, and Home To Win. This gave him the ability to combine his skills in carpentry and his love of making people laugh.

In 2016, alongside his partner-in-crime Dave Kenney they started their own construction renovation company, BroLaws Construction Inc. “The BroLaws” have been making renovation dreams come true, and they even have a long list of satisfied clients to prove it!  Fast forward a few years and he’s now the proud father of two, with a wacky and awesome business partner to keep him on his toes and an incredible wife to keep him humble. Joey appears next in Family Home Overhaul premiering this fall.

    Dave Kenney
    Dave Kenney

Dave Kenney has been working as an expert builder on and off camera for over a decade. Before joining the Family Home Overhaul team he was hard at work on HGTV Canada’s Decked Out, Disaster Decks, Custom Built, and Home To Win. Dave also makes regular appearances as a home and garden expert for daytime talk shows.

When he is not filming, Dave is one half of “The Brolaws,” a renovation company and entertainment outlet he runs alongside his brother-in-law, fellow Family Home Overhaul co-star Joey Fletcher.

Dave is passionate about sharing his knowledge and experience with others so they can have the confidence to take on their own projects. Outside of work, Dave enjoys fishing, watching sports, playing them, or spending quality time with his family.

    Sarah Keenleyside
    Sarah Keenleyside

Designer Sarah Keenleyside joined HGTV Canada in 2017 as co-host of the popular Canadian Screen Award-nominated series, Backyard Builds – which returned for its third season this summer – and as part of the all-star Home To Win cast. Both Sarah and her Backyard Builds co-host Brian McCourt will appear in Family Home Overhaul premiering this fall.

Sarah Keenleyside has run her own successful interior design firm for the last decade and has become recognized for creating unique and creative environments tailored to the individuality of her clients. Sarah’s signature approach to interiors is a result of a multi-disciplinary background in art and design. Beginning with an early interest in fine art, she went on to apply those theories to the designed interior while studying Environmental Design at OCAD University. Her varied work experience includes residential and commercial interiors and exteriors as well as experimenting in graphic and industrial design. Sarah has lived and travelled extensively abroad which has influenced her eclectic sensibility and fueled her desire to design in a style that is uniquely Canadian.

    Brian McCourt
    Brian McCourt

Brian McCourt is a trusted contractor, design expert, real estate flipper, and television personality. He is best known as the co-host of HGTV Canada’s Backyard Builds: a series dedicated to creating innovative outdoor spaces. The Canadian Screen Award-nominated series continues to gain popularity and returned for its third season this summer, fusing traditional interior renovations with unconventional exterior designs. Brian will appear next in HGTV Canada’s Family Home Overhaul, premiering this fall.

A fifth-generation builder, Brian is one of seven siblings – four of which work in real estate and renovation. It is safe to say that it runs in the family! From a young age, Brian felt drawn to real estate. He would watch his parents renovate small-town Victorian homes while refinishing furniture and scoping out flea markets in their free time. By the age of 19, Brian flipped his first property, and at 25 he had nine successful flips under his belt. Today, he boasts 15 years of hands-on renovation and design experience, functioning as a rare designer-contractor blend. In 2010 he opened the eponymous Brian McCourt Designs to help homeowners transform their houses into inspiring, custom homes.

A fun-loving self-proclaimed “goofball”, Brian is motivated by creating multi-platform content that transcends traditional genres and formats. Brian is a regular guest on numerous television and radio shows, and is a proud partner of Habitat for Humanity.

    Scott McGillivray
    Scott McGillivray

For more than a decade, homeowners and aspiring investors have enjoyed the warmth and humour of Scott’s easygoing approach to real estate investing. As the host and executive producer of HGTV’s award-winning series Income Property, Scott made making money in real estate a reality for hundreds of hardworking homeowners across North America. Since then, through endeavours in education, public speaking and linear and digital television production, Scott has empowered countless others to take control of their finances by making smart renovation and real estate choices.

Scott’s interest in diversifying his brand experience has led him to expand into a number of areas, including business. He’s CEO of McGillivray Group and McGillivray Entertainment, co-founder of real estate investing education company, Keyspire, and an accomplished real estate investor with hundreds of properties across North America. Recently, he has expanded his business real estate reach into the areas of multi-use and multi-residential development projects.

Scott is also a respected influencer who engages daily with his 1M+ followers. People from across the globe have been drawn to his approachable personality, and they trust him to provide useful and financially sensible advice.  He is a proud ambassador for Habitat for Humanity Canada, and enjoys teaching people from all walks of life about how they can become homeowners and use real estate to improve their lives.

When he’s not on a build site, speaking in front of a sold-out audience or filming one of his many shows, you can find Scott at home in Toronto, ON spending time with his wife Sabrina and daughters, Myah and Layla.

    Mia Parres
    Mia Parres

Mia Parres began working as an architect and on-set designer for various TV shows before making her move to an on-camera design host in 2012. As co-host of HGTV Canada’s The Expandables, Mia helped homeowners make their homes better when they can’t make it bigger. Mia will be seen next in Family Home Overhaul premiering this fall.

Mia’s love of functional, elegant and timeless spaces translates into both low to high-end residential designs. She has spent the last three years hopping back-and-forth between her high-end residential clients in the Cayman Islands and her city dwelling clients in Toronto and Muskoka.

Born in Toronto, Mia has drawn inspiration from her time living in New York City, London, and Muskoka. When Mia is not busy designing and filming, Mia splits her time between Toronto and the Cayman Islands. Mia loves nothing more than to play with her lab puppy, stay fit with paddle board yoga and, of course, to crank up the country tunes in her car!

    Tiffany Pratt
    Tiffany Pratt

Tiffany Pratt is a designer, artist, creative director, author, speaker, television personality, podcaster and maker. She is a technicolour force, and her multifaceted design philosophy transforms people, objects and spaces.

Her love for treasure hunting and transformation was showcased with her first show on HGTV Canada called, Buy IT, Fix IT, Sell IT, and her brilliant transformations have been featured on the last four seasons of HGTV Canada’s Home To Win. Tiffany returns to HGTV Canada this fall for Family Home Overhaul.

Having worked in fashion and beauty in New York for almost 10 years, Tiffany returned to her Canadian roots in 2008, and opened up her own art studio Glitter Pie, where she taught children and adults alike the true magic of making. She inspired the process of art instead of celebrating the finished product and rejoiced in the daily discovery of creative invention. Glitter Pie was more than just a studio.  It was the birthplace that inspired the creative path she is on and also where her television career was born.  A morning live-eye on Toronto’s Breakfast Television broadcasted her space and magnetic spirit to the city. She has a unique gift to see the exquisite in the unexpected, which is reflected in her first book with Penguin Random House called, This Can Be Beautiful.

Tiffany has an unmistakable, standout style.  She is known as the queen of colour and has true passion for her work. From interior design, commercial design, art direction, product design, installations, writing, painting, making, speaking or styling, Tiffany preaches that the power to change and re-imagine can also change lives.

Tiffany’s ability to connect intimately and inspire her clients is unparalleled.  She leaves her heart and a trail of glitter wherever she goes.

Tiffany Pratt loves her work and she loves you!

Known for her approachable, fresh and colourful style, Samantha’s rooms are rooted in the classics, but always with her own modern twist. Her style is all about spaces layered with playful patterns and luxe texture.

A career spanning more than 18 years has left no stone unturned in getting the message of good, practical and beautiful design to his many followers through television, print media, social media and popular speaking engagements. Tommy continues to travel the world in search of lifestyle stories to bring to audiences in over 50 countries. This fall he returns to HGTV Canada for the new series, Family Home Overhaul.
