Cheryl Hickey is a TV Host, Mom, and Entrepreneur. Cheryl brings heart to every project she works on and provides levity and laughter when it’s needed most. This is especially true in Cheryl’s newest project as she joins HGTV Canada to host its heartwarming new series, Family Home Overhaul.
Family means everything to Cheryl. She maintains close relationships with her parents, brother, and sister, and says that her mom, Lori, is her role model. Cheryl also loves to spend time at home with her own family: her husband, Kevin, their two kids, Jaxson and Nyla, and their two dogs, Murphy and Buddy.
Cheryl shows her children the importance of giving back as an active member of her community, supporting several causes she deeply cares for. She is a Celebrated Ambassador for Plan International Canada with annual initiatives like International Day of the Girl, she works closely with the Sick Kids Foundation, and supports the Baycrest Foundation’s The Brain Project.
Originally from Owen Sound, Ontario, Cheryl’s television career began when she volunteered at the local TV station as a teenager. Inspired by the collaborative creativity of the industry, she pursued a degree in Broadcast Journalism from Fanshawe College. Cheryl worked in several radio and television roles before landing at Global as a videographer, and becoming the first woman in Canada to shoot, switch, and report from a helicopter. She recently celebrated 20 years with the Global TV family, where she has been Host of Entertainment Tonight Canada since its inception in 2005.
As host of ET Canada, Cheryl delivers entertainment news coverage, in-depth profiles and behind-the-scenes exclusives to viewers each night. Cheryl is often a guest co-host on Global’s The Morning Show and 640 Toronto Radio’s The Parenting Show. As an entrepreneur, she is the founder of Cheryl Home and Family, a company that creates and celebrates products for a multigenerational family.
Kate has been working in the television and renovation industry for over 10 years. She got into the skilled trades in 2005 and took a "Women In Skilled Trades" (WIST) course which introduced her to carpentry, electrical, plumbing, finish carpentry, and several other trades.
Kate has appeared on many HGTV Canada hit series including Decked Out, Disaster Decks, Custom Built and Home To Win. When she’s not working on her own renovation company KateBuilds Inc., she is speaking to young women who are considering entering the trades.
Kate is focused on ‘changing the face’ of the skilled trades and is especially passionate about being an advocate for women and supporting causes that are important to her. Kate will be seen next as part of the all-star cast of Family Home Overhaul premiering this fall.
Family Home Overhaul’s Dave Coleman showed passion for construction from an early age, always helping family members with building projects as a kid. He began spending his summers working for landscapers and general contractors.
Dave attended the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire where he was captain of the NCAA Men’s Hockey team while earning his degree in business management. He then combined his construction interests with his business acumen, working for a prominent power tools brand as national accounts manager. It was through this job that he met the construction team at HGTV Canada’s Decked Out, including Kate Campbell.
Sebastian joined HGTV Canada in 2014 to help overwhelmed homeowners achieve their reno goals as host of Tackle My Reno, then in 2017 became a member of the all-star Home To Win cast and co-host of $ave My Reno which returned for its third season this winter. Sebastian will appear next in Family Home Overhaul premiering this fall.
A former defensive back, Sebastian played for the Saskatchewan Roughriders and the B.C. Lions in the CFL, who he won the Grey Cup with in 2006. Since retiring from football in 2009, Sebastian has taken the discipline he learned as a professional athlete and applied it to being a self-employed contractor.
HGTV Canada’s Joey Fletcher began working with Decked Out’s Paul Lafrance during his summer breaks in high school and knew this was the career that he wanted to pursue. After graduating high school, Joey continued working for Paul, and his other brother in-law Dave Kenney. Joey has appeared on Decked Out, Deck Wars, Disaster Deck, Custom Built, and Home To Win. This gave him the ability to combine his skills in carpentry and his love of making people laugh.
In 2016, alongside his partner-in-crime Dave Kenney they started their own construction renovation company, BroLaws Construction Inc. “The BroLaws” have been making renovation dreams come true, and they even have a long list of satisfied clients to prove it! Fast forward a few years and he’s now the proud father of two, with a wacky and awesome business partner to keep him on his toes and an incredible wife to keep him humble. Joey appears next in Family Home Overhaul premiering this fall.
Dave Kenney has been working as an expert builder on and off camera for over a decade. Before joining the Family Home Overhaul team he was hard at work on HGTV Canada’s Decked Out, Disaster Decks, Custom Built, and Home To Win. Dave also makes regular appearances as a home and garden expert for daytime talk shows.
When he is not filming, Dave is one half of “The Brolaws,” a renovation company and entertainment outlet he runs alongside his brother-in-law, fellow Family Home Overhaul co-star Joey Fletcher.
Dave is passionate about sharing his knowledge and experience with others so they can have the confidence to take on their own projects. Outside of work, Dave enjoys fishing, watching sports, playing them, or spending quality time with his family.
Designer Sarah Keenleyside joined HGTV Canada in 2017 as co-host of the popular Canadian Screen Award-nominated series, Backyard Builds – which returned for its third season this summer – and as part of the all-star Home To Win cast. Both Sarah and her Backyard Builds co-host Brian McCourt will appear in Family Home Overhaul premiering this fall.
Sarah Keenleyside has run her own successful interior design firm for the last decade and has become recognized for creating unique and creative environments tailored to the individuality of her clients. Sarah’s signature approach to interiors is a result of a multi-disciplinary background in art and design. Beginning with an early interest in fine art, she went on to apply those theories to the designed interior while studying Environmental Design at OCAD University. Her varied work experience includes residential and commercial interiors and exteriors as well as experimenting in graphic and industrial design. Sarah has lived and travelled extensively abroad which has influenced her eclectic sensibility and fueled her desire to design in a style that is uniquely Canadian.
Brian McCourt is a trusted contractor, design expert, real estate flipper, and television personality. He is best known as the co-host of HGTV Canada’s Backyard Builds: a series dedicated to creating innovative outdoor spaces. The Canadian Screen Award-nominated series continues to gain popularity and returned for its third season this summer, fusing traditional interior renovations with unconventional exterior designs. Brian will appear next in HGTV Canada’s Family Home Overhaul, premiering this fall.
A fifth-generation builder, Brian is one of seven siblings – four of which work in real estate and renovation. It is safe to say that it runs in the family! From a young age, Brian felt drawn to real estate. He would watch his parents renovate small-town Victorian homes while refinishing furniture and scoping out flea markets in their free time. By the age of 19, Brian flipped his first property, and at 25 he had nine successful flips under his belt. Today, he boasts 15 years of hands-on renovation and design experience, functioning as a rare designer-contractor blend. In 2010 he opened the eponymous Brian McCourt Designs to help homeowners transform their houses into inspiring, custom homes.
A fun-loving self-proclaimed “goofball”, Brian is motivated by creating multi-platform content that transcends traditional genres and formats. Brian is a regular guest on numerous television and radio shows, and is a proud partner of Habitat for Humanity.

Mia Parres began working as an architect and on-set designer for various TV shows before making her move to an on-camera design host in 2012. As co-host of HGTV Canada’s The Expandables, Mia helped homeowners make their homes better when they can’t make it bigger. Mia will be seen next in Family Home Overhaul premiering this fall.
Mia’s love of functional, elegant and timeless spaces translates into both low to high-end residential designs. She has spent the last three years hopping back-and-forth between her high-end residential clients in the Cayman Islands and her city dwelling clients in Toronto and Muskoka.
Born in Toronto, Mia has drawn inspiration from her time living in New York City, London, and Muskoka. When Mia is not busy designing and filming, Mia splits her time between Toronto and the Cayman Islands. Mia loves nothing more than to play with her lab puppy, stay fit with paddle board yoga and, of course, to crank up the country tunes in her car!
Tiffany Pratt is a designer, artist, creative director, author, speaker, television personality, podcaster and maker. She is a technicolour force, and her multifaceted design philosophy transforms people, objects and spaces.

She was the design editor at Style at Home for more than 10 years, contributing home editor at Chatelaine, and a design columnist for The National Post.

While there, she became the co-host of four seasons of Masters of Flip, incorporating her passion for interior design into the business of flipping and restoring old rundown homes. Kortney appeared in Season 4 of Home To Win and the new HGTV Canada series Making it Home With Kortney & Dave this winter. Kortney next joins the all-star cast of Family Home Overhaul premiering this fall.
