Cheryl Hickey

Cheryl Hickey is a TV Host, Mom, and Entrepreneur. Cheryl brings heart to every project she works on and provides levity and laughter when it’s needed most. Cheryl joined HGTV Canada to host its heartwarming series, Family Home Overhaul.

Family means everything to Cheryl. She maintains close relationships with her parents, brother, and sister, and says that her mom, Lori, is her role model. Cheryl also loves to spend time at home with her own family: her husband, Kevin, their two kids, Jaxson and Nyla, and their two dogs, Murphy and Buddy.

Cheryl shows her children the importance of giving back as an active member of her community, supporting several causes she deeply cares for. She is a Celebrated Ambassador for Plan International Canada with annual initiatives like International Day of the Girl, she works closely with the Sick Kids Foundation, and supports the Baycrest Foundation’s The Brain Project.

Originally from Owen Sound, Ontario, Cheryl’s television career began when she volunteered at the local TV station as a teenager. Inspired by the collaborative creativity of the industry, she pursued a degree in Broadcast Journalism from Fanshawe College. Cheryl worked in several radio and television roles before landing at Global as a videographer, and becoming the first woman in Canada to shoot, switch, and report from a helicopter. She recently celebrated 20 years with the Global TV family, where she has been Host of Entertainment Tonight Canada since its inception in 2005.

As host of ET Canada, Cheryl delivers entertainment news coverage, in-depth profiles and behind-the-scenes exclusives to viewers each night. Cheryl is often a guest co-host on Global’s The Morning Show and 640 Toronto Radio’s The Parenting Show. As an entrepreneur, she is the founder of Cheryl Home and Family, a company that creates and celebrates products for a multigenerational family.
