Sabrina Spills the Secrets That Went into Creating this Breathtaking DIY Kitchen

Sabrina Spills the Secrets That Went into Creating this Breathtaking DIY Kitchen

This kitchen may look classically traditional, but we employed a few not-so-traditional tricks to elevate the overall look. We may have reused their cabinets, but painted and outfitted with chunky crown molding and they look brand new. And rather than buying expensive floor tile, we cut inexpensive slab porcelain tiles and laid them in a herringbone pattern. Design-wise, we enlisted design’s good friend symmetry and showcased the impressive island in the middle of the kitchen by centering all of the lighting around it. We even stepped it up a notch and let the quartz cascade down and flow into a dining table with plenty of seating for the whole family. Complete with chrome finishes and a glitzy, white diamond backsplash, this space could border on cold-looking, but by selecting whites and neutrals with warm undertones, this impressive kitchen feels both homey and sophisticated.
