Controversy! The dining room episode of Sarah’s House 4 caused some commotion in our Discuss Post — most of the comments were not in favour of Sarah taking her love of blue to heights of dramatic saturation. Some people thought there should have been more of a neutral presence to balance out the colour and some weren’t feeling the mix of blues.
Personally, I liked this multi-blued dining room with its with warm gold and brass accents (as did Elana — see 7 blue-on-blue rooms she pulled for our Lunchtime Fix photo feature last week). But, how about moving this colour palette to the bedroom?
If we include more of the neutrals Sarah used in the rug, like creamy creige — just made that up: cream and beige — in a duvet cover, the blues will be soothed while still retaining their drama. It’s perfect for a cozy, grown-up master suite, yes? no?
Let’s start with a rich blue wall from Sarah’s own paint line, add a brass bed ( just like Sarah used in her farmhouse on season 3), but with a creige or crisp white duvet, some softly striped drapes…
Add a gorgeous John Robshaw pillow or two…what do you think?
Could you live with this colour palette in the bedroom? Let us know what you think!
