Vito Colucci

Vito Colucci

"My first experience with Sarah Richardson was my first experience working with a designer," says Sarah's Cottage contractor Vito Colucci. "I found it strange that this young designer was making all the major renovation decisions for the homeowner using little more than sketches on paper and marking walls on the floor. But we got it done on time and under budget and it had quality written all over it."

Vito opened his firm, Yorkton Contracting in 1994 and first took Sarah on as a client a few years later. Vito brings to Sarah's Cottage and every project a firm understanding of tight budgets, being a good motivator and making the job site safe and fun. "Contracting has been in my family for generations. My satisfaction comes from transforming a tired home into something new and refreshed. You might call it the ultimate in recycling!"

Vito's zeal extends to projects large and small, on or off a tiny island in that bobs in the middle of a lake. Each requires strong communication, the right amount of time and attention to detail. In spite of uncontrollable delays and the odd misstep, it's got to be a positive experience. "Knowing we do our best to satisfy clients is of most importance," says Vito. "There's a sense of sadness when pulling out of a job, because we know our work there is done."

In his spare time Vito trades hammer and nail for quality time with his family and friends. That is until someone asks him about moving a wall, re-routing plumbing, converting a basement, fixing a broken window, saving a teetering tree house...
