After a lengthy renovation process, Kate Middleton and Prince William have finally settled into their new home. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, along with baby George, are now living in Kensington Palace’s 20-room Apartment A1 – an apartment fit for a princess, might I add.

Princess Margaret’s former base – and Will’s childhood abode – became the royal couple’s number one choice for eventual inhabitation after Kate fell in love with the grounds. However, when asbestos was discovered, a complete overhaul was in order. The $1.5-million reno also brought more modern amenities, including central air, WiFi, his and hers bathrooms, three kitchens and a panic room to the royal residence.

Kate Middleton (who had the royal accessory collection at her disposal) reportedly chose to keep the home’s original crown mouldings, but worked with her mother’s designer to add her own personal touches here and there. Her new colour palette is rumoured to include beiges, creams and earth tones.

Along with a day and night nursery for baby George, the grounds are home to a large enclosed garden for the little prince to play in. In fact, George will grow up making memories in the same spots as his father, William, once did.
This calls for a housewarming party! What do you think about Will and Kate’s new home?
