Samantha Pynn, Host and Creative Director
Samantha's entry into the world of decorating and design began 10 years ago as a location scout for commercials and music videos in Toronto. Within a few years, she had parlayed that talent into an illustrious career in the design department at Style at Home magazine. Sam quickly became responsible for producing big stories on the hottest decor trends, coming up with design concepts for many of the articles and scouting homes featured in the magazine.
The long hours and hard work quickly paid off and her career skyrocketed. Her flirty, fresh style was quickly noticed by the producers of popular TV morning show, CityLine on CityTV, where she has been a regular guest expert for five years.
Responsible for styling and also creating many elegant-yet-accessible interiors featured in the magazine, Sam has worked with top Canadian designers, and apprenticed with Canadian designer and former design editor at Style at Home, David Overholt. In the course of her career, she's has also interviewed several internationally acclaimed interior designers.
Sam believes in approachable, layered decorating that brings in personal touches for a glam effect. She's also well-known for her creativity in developing easy, do-it-yourself projects that any homeowner can do. In the first season of her show, Sam is excited and enthusiastic about taking on the challenge of transforming thirteen everyday rooms into sustainable living spaces with piles of personality and flair. For Sam, sustainability is about making the best choices you can, starting with changes as simple as rethinking what you have or making over a second-hand piece, while still getting gorgeous results.
