Four years ago the Bartz brothers of New Brighton, Minnesota started an annual tradition that has since put their front lawn on the map. Each winter, Austin, Connor and Trevor Bartz have built epically large snow sculptures, demonstrating not only exquisite craftsmanship, but an impressive amount of dedication, considering their chilly work conditions!
Past years’ work has included a giant shark, a friendly walrus and a shocked blowfish. This year’s project, a charming 12-foot-tall sea turtle, took the boys a total of 300 hours to complete.
To create these incredible works of art, the boys spend weeks piling snow into a massive mound which they then carefully sculpt into form. No word on what they’re planning for next year, but we’re guessing it’s sure to blow your mind.
