Six people, two teams, one mission: to buy trash, turn it into treasure, and sell it for as much as possible. The name of the show is Trash to Treasure and the team that makes the most money wins. Viewers and teams are guided through three stages by host Sandy Robson, an accomplished actor, comedian, improvisational artist and handy man. Stage One:
Six people are divided into two teams. Each team is given $200 and a van. They have six hours to shop at garage sales, consignment shops, flea markets, second-hand stores, and content sales and spend ALL their money.
Stage Two:
The teams have eight hours to clean, fix, paint, polish and refurbish their finds.
Stage Three:
Each team sets up a booth at a local antique market and has five hours to sell all their wares. Which team displays the most creativity, charm, and salesmanship? We let the public decide…with their wallets.
Trash to Treasure is a fast paced, multi-faceted challenge that tests:
CREATIVITY AND VISION: Which team has the insight, ingenuity and taste to recognize the hidden potential in a piece of junk?
RESOURCEFULNESS: Which team can best manage their money and get the most bang for their buck?
TEAM WORK: Which team of three, strong, creative individuals can come together as the most effective unit?
SKILL: Which team displays the most knowledge and craftsmanship during the renovation process?
SALESMANSHIP: Which team can cajole, barter and charm shoppers into parting with the most cash?
TRASH TO TREASURE: Redefining garbage on TV.
