Having graduated with honours in floral design, Cathy Mines has proved she knows her stuff! From managing some of the best studios in the city to shopping the world as a wholesale buyer and in-house designer, Cathy has been living and breathing floral design for over fifteen years.

Cathy was one of the first two people to be inducted into the Canadian Academy of Floral Art recognized world-wide as an organization that honors floral design and those with the ability to transform the ordinary into the extraordinary. Despite being an award winning designer, Cathy’s main focus isn’t just roses and daisies; she owns and operates her own yoga studio.

A floral purest at heart, Cathy’s biggest flower pet peeve is the lack of chemical free cut flowers and foliage available on the market. She is also a great defender of the mighty rose, a flower that is otherwise known as the multi-tasker of the flower world. To Cathy, roses can make a dramatic impact, as an individual single stem or part of a stunning bouquet…“and then of course pulled apart with petals strewn everywhere, including floating in my bath”.
