Meet Lucy. Come winter, she’ll be your new best friend. Italian inventor Diva Tommei created Lucy, a smart mirror, to aid during the hard, dark days of winter.
After moving from Rome to Cambridge to pursue a PhD, Tommei yearned for the Mediterranean sunshine, and after suffering a bout of Seasonal Affective Disorder, she set about inventing a way to illuminate her dark and dreary office. She created Lucy, a smart mirror which uses algorithms and sensors to trace sunlight and reflect it throughout any room it’s directed in. It’s powerful enough to reflect up to 7,000 lumens of light (pretty impressive compared to the 800 lumens cast by a typical LED bulb). Lucy is available for preorder (hundreds of orders have been placed) and rings in at $199.
Winter may be coming, but Canadians have nothing to be afraid of.
