ABOUT

Make It Right Foundation

The Make It Right Foundation was established as a response to the devastation in New Orleans caused by Hurricane Katrina. The Foundation aims to create affordable housing on a large scale to help the victims of Hurricane Katrina. Its mission is to be a catalyst for redevelopment of the Lower 9th Ward, by building a neighborhood made up of safe and healthy homes that feature high environmental and energy performance. Conforming to the values of sustainable building — zero waste, use of re-cycled and re-used materials, water efficiency and sustainable site development — the homes are also designed and built with an emphasis on a high quality, innovative design, while preserving the spirit of the community's culture.
