Mike AAlicia Cox says,

I have seen the show - 2 episodes and it seems very informative. There are some details that I think would be good to know. There are never any mention of dimension (This unit is X sp ft.) and I think a little more about what the building code calls for is necessary and very important. There is also always some additonal work going on that is isn't always explained and should be. Keep up the good work.

It would be great to have more details about what had to be done for each show on a Income Property blog. I'm going through this myself and blogging about it at http://www.projectfirsthouse.com.

Income Property could then take all the material and even write a book ;)

This is one of the best HGTV show. It is informative. I hope this show will be back next year. It's different than the usual "Before and Afther".

The only thing I would change is telling where they are doing the transformations. What city? Is it only in Toronto or is it done all cross Canada?

This is my absolute favorite show on tv!

The only problem is is that I live in the US and don't have cable so I only get to see it when I visit my parents!

Is there any way that I could download or even buy the seasons? I find them anywhere online (Netflix, Amazon, etc.)!

Thanks so much!

Looking for the episode where he said a lot of people don't put hardwood in the basement but he does. He put some kind of vapor barrier down and the wood had these grooves on the bottom . I want to know what kind of engineered wood that was and the brand of vapor barrier. It was the episode where they found mold and ant's in the walls and also had money stolen from there account.

We love the shows. My wife and I learn something new every episode we watch. I have just been laid off from work and my wife andrea took on more hours so we can keep up with the bills. We are going to finish our walk out basement and make an income suite. That will be very sweet $$. Westchester N.Y. can be quite expensive.

Hi Marie,
Season 3 of Income Property doesn't air until the fall, though I believe it may have already aired in the U.S.

To the people looking for items seen in the show, each episode's resource list, or shopping guide, appears in the photo gallery at the top of the page and on the first photo.

Cheers,
Alicia

the neverending question that i cant seem to find an answer to:
do the income property owners keep the staged furniture or is it just done for the episode & removed?

the staging is extraordinary & truly shows how it makes the properties more desirable.

Looking for the bedspread shown on season 2 episode 1 Daria and James Neutral colors with shore bird(s).Please help

Thursday, 16 September 2010 21:38 PM EST

Alicia, HGTV says,

Hi Brendle6,
According to the Resource/Shopping Guide (the link is at the top of the photo gallery and in the gallery), the home furnishing were from Bouclair. I can't confirm that the bedspread was purchased there since that's all the info we have on that episode. But you can start there.

Cheers,

I also love the show and think Scott is a great and knowledgable host. Please answer this question....Do the homeowners get to keep the staged furniture as part of compensation for doing the show?

Wednesday, 09 March 2011 01:00 AM EST

Graham says,

Am I missing something about this show? The format seems to be - homeowner is struggling to pay say $1200/month mortgage, renovate basement, cost say $25,000, rent basement for say $850/month - wow, new payment on mortgage is $350/month. Great, if you have $25,000 lying around. If the homeowner was struggling to pay the $1200/month mortgage, I doubt they would have $25,000 lying around!!

The homeowner's real monthly payment is using the numbers above, $350/month plus the cost of borrowing and repaying the $25,000 they had to borrow.

Bob says,

Do the income property owners keep the furniture or is it only for staging and removed after the show ends?

Thursday, 21 April 2011 03:04 AM EST

Lisa Lisa & Bob,

I agree I would like to know if they get to keep the furniture also, but I cannot find the answer anywhere....does anyone at HGTV have an answer?? :) Thanks!

Linda says,

Why doesn't the show factor in the cost of renovation when they say that your mortgage is being reduced. If a renovation costs $40,000 where is the money coming from?

Gwen says,

Just curious since I have seen other people asking the same question, but never get an answer. Do the people get to keep the furniture that is used for staging? Always wondered that myself.

Wednesday, 27 July 2011 21:29 PM EST

Sarah says,

I've seen about 5 people ask if the homeowners get to keep the furnature that is used for staging the apartment but no one has answered. Does anyone from HGTV look at the feedback here and answer these or is it the blind leading the blind?

Saturday, 12 November 2011 11:31 AM EST

Margaret says,

Sat here searching for my answer...guess they don't get to keep the staging furniture since it is never addressed. Makes me wonder about some of the finishes and wallpaper used if it is rented unfurnished....

Friday, 02 December 2011 16:48 PM EST

Paige says,

He mentions it in one of the episodes, he says lets take pictures while its still staged i guess you can infer from that, that they don't get to keep the furniture

Friday, 02 December 2011 18:16 PM EST

Anna says,

I can't see the homeowners being able to keep the furniture considering some of the pieces used in the staging are high end. If they're struggling, how did they come up with thousands for all the furniture?

Sunday, 08 January 2012 10:12 AM EST

jamie says,

do the home owners keep the furniture placed in the home, or is only for staging purposes? If they do keep the furniture, is it in the original renovation price quoted?
