It’s the journey not the destination....And what a journey it’s been for the personable and savvy home decor pro Peter Fallico.
Home to Keep” is the newest design series for Peter Fallico in the successful “Home to” brand. In “Home to Keep” Peter helps families re-purpose a space in their home that doesn’t actually work with the way they live in it.
Peter has been on TV and in magazines for over ten years guiding people through their design challenges but his love for decor began at an early age in his grandmothers’ Old Victorian home. He and his sister played on the vacant third floor by imagining home improvements that could be made to the attic room. As a teen, he painted, replaced light fixtures and changed blinds in his parents home. Peter was already in love with transformation and every room was like a blank canvass and met by the possibility of improvement.
Peter’s first job at Adanac Glass and Mirror during high-school, gave him the chance to learn and create with glass and mirror while installing entire mirrored wall panels into beautiful homes. He saw firsthand what made exceptional homes exceptional and would later draw from this experience in his career. After graduating high-school, Peter began a cultural exchange program through The Canada World Youth. The eight month program in Prince George, BC and West Sumatra Indonesia exposed Peter to unique and passionate lifestyles comprised of texture, culture and diversity; which he utilizes in his design career to this day. He continued his passion for design and enrolled in a Furniture Production and Design program at George Brown College and also attended OCA’s art center for life drawing, painting and sculpturing ceramics. After his studies, Peter put his knowledge and passion for transformation to use and purchased his first home at the age of 21. He converted his house into three apartments and fell in love with the process of renovation.
Peter’s first home gave him the financial freedom to inquire into a variety of careers around decor and design as began to hone his down-to-earth, do-it-yourself style by doing weekend workshop projects for Style at Home Magazine. He first debuted on HGTV as a guest host on This Small Space where he introduced viewers to practical, yet stylish do-it-yourself projects. Next came the opportunity to host his own show, Home To Go. In 2004 while hosting a third show - Home To Stay, Peter purchased a third home. Peter’s precarious undertaking paid off and he created a beautiful home that he was able to sell to happy new homeowners in just two years for an impressive profit and led to his latest show for HGTV, Home To Flip.
Home To Flip aims to inspire viewers while giving them the expertise to also flip their homes into profitable ventures. Through all Peter’s endeavors, he has enjoyed the journey and found the joy in living and loving the moment. This ideology follows Peter in front of the camera where he hopes to entertain, inspire and empower audiences through the love and challenge of their renovations.
