De-cluttering expert and host of the new HGTV Canada series Consumed, Jill Pollack is an organizational maverick who considers herself to be a personal trainer for the home and office. Her philosophy is "own your stuff, don't let your stuff own you."
With a Bachelors in Psychology from Columbia University and a Masters in Journalism from NYU, Jill answered her de-cluttering calling after an illustrious thirteen-year career as a TV producer. In that time, she worked on programmes such as CBS News, The Sally Jessy Raphael Show, Extra, The Rosie O'Donnell Show, The Queen Latifah Show (pilot) and The Gayle King Show, to name a few. She ended her producing career with the primetime reality show of The Wedding of Trista and Ryan (The Bachelorette).
Knowing her talent for persuasion and getting things done – she figured if she could boss people around on a TV set, she could do it in their homes – she decided to utilize her honed organizational skills to truly help people live their best life by getting rid of clutter in their homes.
With a caring, non-judgmental approach, Jill has created systems for even the most scattered souls. Her client roster includes several celebrities like Desperate Housewives actresses Marcia Cross and Felicity Huffman and actress and poker champion Jennifer Tilly. After working with Jill, clients not only report a physical feeling of lightness, but also an amazing surge in psychological well-being. They describe a sense of control over their lives and a renewed sense of purpose.
Jill’s work has been featured in magazines such as In Style Home, Fitness, Family Circle, Budget Decorating Ideas, and Quick and Simple as well as on The Tyra Banks Show, The Style Network, Bridezillas, Living with ED, and The Mom Show and websites such as AOL.com and FOXNEWS.com, to name a few. Jill is also a regular on Martha Stewart and Broadminded SIRIUS XM Radio programmes.
Jill is also an in-demand public speaker. She travels to give organizational tips across the United States on TV spots and satellite media tours for clients like Schick, Banana Boat and Wet Ones. Jill was a spokesperson for Avery Labels’ 75th anniversary “Life Stages” campaign in 2010 and continues her spokesperson work with them in 2011.
Jill is a member of the National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO).
