Organize your kitchen and spices with a stylish spice rack. This multi-functional spice rack also doubles as a magnet board.

WHAT YOU NEED

  • ½ “ thick maple plywood
  • Maple edge-banding
  • Galvanized sheet metal
  • Iron
  • Screws
  • Contact cement
  • Wood stain

CUT LIST

  • Cut the project materials as follows:
  • Back of Spice rack: 14” x 48”
  • Galvanized sheet metal: 14” x 48”
  • Shelves: 3 ½” x 14”

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. To construct the black board of the spice rack, cut a 14” x 48” piece of maple plywood.
  2. To construct the shelving for the spice rack, cut a three 3½” x 14” pieces of maple plywood.
  3. To construct the front of the spice rack, cut a 14” x 48” piece of galvanized sheet metal.
  4. Iron on the edge-banding around all edges of the cut maple plywood. This includes the plywood used for the shelves and back of the spice rack. This will hide any unfinished edges.
  5. Satin the wood using desired stain and let dry.
  6. Using the contact cement, attach the galvanized sheet metal to the black board of the spice rack.
  7. Measure and mark off where the shelves are to go and using the screws, attach the shelves from the back of the board to conceal the screw-heads.
  8. Use the exposed metal for a magnet message board.
