Organize your kitchen and spices with a stylish spice rack. This multi-functional spice rack also doubles as a magnet board.
WHAT YOU NEED
- ½ “ thick maple plywood
- Maple edge-banding
- Galvanized sheet metal
- Iron
- Screws
- Contact cement
- Wood stain
CUT LIST
- Cut the project materials as follows:
- Back of Spice rack: 14” x 48”
- Galvanized sheet metal: 14” x 48”
- Shelves: 3 ½” x 14”
INSTRUCTIONS
- To construct the black board of the spice rack, cut a 14” x 48” piece of maple plywood.
- To construct the shelving for the spice rack, cut a three 3½” x 14” pieces of maple plywood.
- To construct the front of the spice rack, cut a 14” x 48” piece of galvanized sheet metal.
- Iron on the edge-banding around all edges of the cut maple plywood. This includes the plywood used for the shelves and back of the spice rack. This will hide any unfinished edges.
- Satin the wood using desired stain and let dry.
- Using the contact cement, attach the galvanized sheet metal to the black board of the spice rack.
- Measure and mark off where the shelves are to go and using the screws, attach the shelves from the back of the board to conceal the screw-heads.
- Use the exposed metal for a magnet message board.
