Has your wooden coffee table seen better days? Use this fabulous project plan to refinish a coffee table that’s looking tired or to update its wood colour to match your new décor.

WHAT YOU NEED

  • Existing coffee table
  • Electric sander
  • Stainable wood-filler
  • Wood stain
  • Wood varnish

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Using an existing wood coffee table, remove the legs and supports from the underside.
  2. Flip the coffee table up-side-down.
  3. Using the wood-filler, fill in all holes from the screws that were used to attach the legs and hardware to the table.
  4. Once the wood-filler is dry, sand down the entire surface removing all blemishes. Stain wood using a stain colour of your choice.
  5. Re-stain the surface and coat with at least 2-3 coats of varnish.
  6. Once the varnish is dry, reattach legs, supports and hardware to the underside of the table (the old top is now the underside of the table).
