WHAT YOU NEED
- ¾” MDF
- Curved Template or Trammel Point
- Jig Saw
- Clamp
- Belt Sander
- Poplar (or other hardwood)
- Drill
- Studs
- Screws
INSTRUCTIONS
Mark out three gables on ¾” MDF using a curved template or trammel points.
Use a jig saw to roughly cut out the gables.
Clamp these pieces together and sand smooth with a beltsander.
Cut a 1 ½” square through mortises in the center gable by first drilling mortises in the center and then using a small chisel to square them off.
Use the centre gable as a guide to locate the blind mortises in either end gable. Make sure not to drill through to the other side.
Cut the slats from solid poplar(or other hardwood) to match the dimensions of the mortises(in this case about ¼”x1”x48”).
Assemble and clamp all of these at the same time as you fasten it to the backer piece. If you want to allow for room to hang hooks underneath your pannier, make this piece longer and taller than your pannier.
Locate studs in the wall for the desired location.
Use stud instructions to fasten the pannier securely to the wall.
