New Cottage makeover show is accepting applications:

Is your family cottage tired and/or outdated? Is your cottage in need of repair or a new look?

RTR's new cottage design series is looking for families who want to give their cottage the attention and love it deserves... with a little help from an expert design team!

Our team will tackle cottages within a 2 hour radius of Toronto THIS SUMMER. Cottagers are expected to contribute a minimum of $5000 (plus a contingency of 25%) to the cost of the renovation and help our team pull the design together. Please send photos of cottagers AND cottages.

Disaster DIY

Ever wonder how you can be on Disaster DIY, the show where homeowners call out their good-intentioned, but renovation-clueless loved ones? Disaster DIY is looking for more Do-It-Yourself-ers, Handyman Wannabes, and the Frustrated People Who Know Them!

Our host Bryan Baeumler comes in, and with his construction know-how and special brand of humour, teaches the do-it-yourself-ers how to plan, execute, and complete their home renovations the right way.

To qualify:

  1. For Home disasters, you must live within the Greater Toronto Area (Toronto, Ontario,| Canada). For Disaster DIY: Cottage Edition, you must live within a 3-hour driving distance of the GTA.
  2. You MUST own the house or space you're renovating and you MUST be in the middle of an attempted renovation. We do NOT correct mistakes from previous home owners and bad contractors. We also do NOT take on renovations that have not been started.
  3. Please send in full applications complete with pictures or video. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

Questionnaire:

  1. What is the address and phone number of you and the DIY-er?
  2. Which room has the botched renovation taken place?
  3. Briefly, tell us what the DIY-er has done so far. List the mistakes the DIY-er made? Be very specific!
  4. What has the impact been on you and your family? (Eg. Fighting, eating holiday dinners on the floor, showering at the in-laws etc.)

For Rent is currently casting for its second season! Our real estate expert Jodi Gilmour will guide desperate but hopeful renters in the search to find a space that fits their budget, and then we'll perform magazine-worthy makeovers on a dime.

Are you the victim of a bad home inspection? Well-known television production company in the GTA is looking for homeowners with a story to tell. If you've recently purchased a home based on a positive home inspection and found problems after you moved in please send us your story.

To qualify, homeowners must have:

  • Purchased a home in the past 18 months in the Toronto area.
  • Used a Home Inspection Service before purchase.
  • A written Home Inspection report.
  • Found issues with their home that were not accounted for in the inspection report.
