Canada’s foremost Interior Design Show — IDS11 — is happening next week! Every year we here at HGTV.ca lie in wait to pounce on the great design talent invited to the show, and this year’s line-up is certainly meaty. Always an imaginative affair, IDS Director, Shauna Levy envisages a yearly special feature, typically consisting of an idea and a fun collaboration. This year’s eagerly awaited spectacle is called Sibling Revelry (which I erroneously assumed as Sibling Rivalry in the interview below), involving — you guessed it — sibling designers! “See what happens when some of Canada’s most talented siblings design a space…together”, promises the bill, and my HGTV.ca colleague Vanessa and I had us a little chat with the four sibling sets invited to participate… We kick off our ramp-up to opening night (27th of Jan.) with the celebrated duo, Brothers Dressler… Enjoy!
Jason and Lars Dressler are twin woodworkers who build furniture and other objects with a respect for material, process and craftsmanship. By focusing on creating at a local craft level, they are able to design and produce all of their custom furniture and batch production pieces out of their studio workshop in Toronto, Canada.
