The HGTV Canada team has long argued the pros and cons of keeping a television in the bedroom. For some, it’s a decorating sin, an infringement on precious hours of sleep and a detriment to their…um…relationship. While others state it’s saved their relationship, allowing two televisions to be kept in a smaller home, and providing hours of relaxing entertainment from the comfort of one’s own bed.
But TVs in the bedroom are just the beginning. At a recent team meeting, a coworker shared her desire to place a television in her dining room. (Cue jaw drop and forehead slap.)
She argued it would save her from eating at her coffee table each night, which, we had to admit, was a fair point. If you’re eating in front of the television anyway, why not place it in your dining room? At least your dining room table would finally get some use.
The television takeover is proving to be unstoppable. We’ve lost our war over the bedroom, and the dining room is positioned to fall. What’ll it be next? We’re betting on the bathroom. (And truthfully, who wouldn’t love catching up on Leave it to Bryan in a bubble bath?).
