Javier de Riba, an artist based in Barcelona, has been sneaking into abandoned buildings to create exquisite “tiled” floors, all with a can of spray paint and stencils.
Riba is a member of the Reskate Arts & Crafts collective, and focuses on semi-public pieces like the tiled floors. As described on his website, “his restlessness brings him to question his personal style, and reinterpret it to best serve each project. For Javi, each piece challenges his aesthetic, driving him to try new styles and techniques while balancing his existing abilities with his desire for growth and exploration.”
How exciting would it be to discover one of his works on the floor of an abandoned building?
