We sent July off with a wrap-up post and welcome (not really — too soon!)) August with our love for that last jaunt to a recreational property.
Sounds so official. But that’s what they are, aren’t they? Not quite vacation properties, because to those one usually has to fly, but properties within driving distance; cottages, cabins (for you West Coasters) fishing lodges, farmhouses and ski-town time-shares — properties where you partake in recreational activities like canoeing, fishing, skiing, sleeping and beer drinking.
I don’t know about your crew, but half of our office is off at a recreational property for some part of August, and for those who can’t, we’ll do our best to rub it in by talking all about it :)
But seriously, there are many things to be said about recreational property decor (I’m going to hate writing ‘recreational property’ for the rest of the month, I can already see it), but before we can even get there, I have one very important question to ask you to kick-start this month’s theme:
Lakefront cottage or Farm House?
Take a poll my friends, and tell me which you would rather (not have to maintain) love to have as your drive-to getaway?
Stay tuned for all things Cottage & Camping on HGTV.ca and foodnentwork.ca for the whole month of August.
