Today’s Home Tour is certainly aspirational. Look, drool and make peace with the fact that your reno will scarcely reach the same plane of gorgeousity (but you never know). Ideas though, rarely come free, and this incredible interior overhaul of an existing two-storey home in Toronto’s affluent Hogs Hollow area, is chock full of them – thanks to 3rd Uncle Design Inc.
When the lucky couple that now live here first retained the Toronto-based firm (whose diverse portfolio includes The Drake Hotel, Fresh on Bloor, Totum Life Science Club Spa and many acclaimed Toronto bars and restaurants in addition to residences), their goal was to bring the existing space more inline with their lifestyle (the good life) and infuse it with much needed style (textured, mid-century chic.)
Arriz Hassam, one of three principals of 3rd Uncle (John Tong and Paul Syme making up the rest), who was designer and style steward of this dreamy renovation, took first to reorienting the flow and division of space in what was, as he puts it “an open concept bachelor pad lacking in character.” Following that, custom built-ins, display nooks and multipurpose features took care of creative storage, the remainder of the home’s furnishings sourced from designer shops and dealers of Danish-modern originals.

Dreamy, no? What do you think?
