What is "no sew" and does it work?
"No sew" is what you’d guess: a glue that is used instead of sewing. I’m the kind of person who loves quick and easy and sometimes this glue would be fine but other times not as appropriate. It’s glue that dries clear, flexible when dry, and machine washable. It bonds most natural or synthetic fabrics. It’s generally suggested that you heat set it with an iron to achieve maximum holding power.
Can it replace sewing? In my opinion, only in a pinch. Sure, for gluing appliqués on your Halloween costume, or gluing a hem when you’re on your way out the door, it’s great! It’s also fine for a lot of craft projects where there is not a lot of strain on the bond. "No sew" is a good glue but it is only glue, so I wouldn’t use as a permanent fix on a garment that is in constant use or is being washed a lot.
