I’ve had the same shower curtain going on three years now, so I think it’s time for a change – plus one of the rings ripped out and now it’s all I can look at. When I moved into my rental, I went with a tropical theme in the bathroom. I put up beachy pictures from a trip to Barbados (where I have family), threw my toothbrush in a tacky sunset souvenir mug and strung up my $20 palm tree curtain. It was lazy, kitschy style at its best.
When I started the hunt for a new shower curtain with a more feminine vibe, I couldn’t believe how much the cutest curtains cost! I’m really feeling floral these days and this gorgeous display from Anthropologie (who ship to Canada and offer Canadian prices on their website) is $113 without shipping, so I had to pass. Sigh.

So I decided to eschew colour in favour of white to make my tiny bathroom appear bigger (it’s the size of a small elevator) and I set a budget of $30. I didn’t want plain white, I like a bit of pattern for eye candy. I love the floral pattern on the first choice below, but I also like the polka dots on the second (and I have a polka-dotted train case that stores makeup).
Which one should I choose?
