Love this DIY playroom makeover? Here’s how to create your own whiteboard wall.

I picked up one package of Dry Erase paint from Home Depot. It says it covers 7x7 feet, but I went for 5 1/2 feet tall by 7 feet wide (thinking I would have extra for the table top) I painted on two coats, but it was clear that I needed to do more. I could still see through to the colour on the wall.

So, I bought another package of the paint and in the end, did four coats - and a bit extra for the table top. I think if my wall were white to begin with, I may not have needed four coats, but in the end it cost me 70 dollars to do this versus 300 to buy a giant pre-made whiteboard. And it works perfectly!

My husband and daughter did some handy work and installed a nice thick moulding around the painted area. This makes is look like it's hanging on the wall, but it's secure and won't fall on any toes or tiny toddlers.

I let it dry for the whole week before we used it as I had a lot of other projects to do in the room.

And after that week...it's awesome! She is already playing teacher.
