We've teamed up with Foodnetwork.ca and Slice.ca to bring you the best home, food and fashion trends each month within a certain theme. This month, we launch with lace. Blame the trend on the Royal Wedding if you will, but I think this delicate handicraft has been on its way back into homes and closets for a few years now. (We even published a doily lampshade DIY last year!)

Incorporating lace at home doesn't mean going granny-chic with doilies and sweet lace curtains. The key to making lace look modern is choosing accessories that incorporate a little surprise or a lot of sophistication.
The Moooi Crochet Table, while a tad expensive at more than $1,600 is really more art than functional furniture — and it's not a piece that will go out of style. I love the white-on-black, slightly Gothic feeling of the Ebony Lace Wallpaper from Anthropologie. How great would it look above the chair rail in a dining room? Of course, you can also incorporate lace in small ways. These tabletop accessories from Urban Barn are totally easy and affordable.
Planning a wedding? Lace is the perfect accent for a charming, vintage feel.
